project unsung

Project Unsung initiated by the Innovation Service at UNHCR, engaged six consultants with experience in futures literacy, science fiction, arts, humanities and the social sciences, to address alternative approaches to humanitarian response, asking difficult questions about the state of the organization, the world it inhabits, and the futures it shapes. Project themes included: confronting climate change and ecological loss; fostering belonging, connection, and kinship; and imagining social transformation via decolonizing, localizing, and building solidarity across difference. I conducted interviews, led workshops, and contributed two essays that explore how storytelling and art are uniquely positioned in creating platforms that, in establishing variables for interaction, can propose alternate ways of living together. Read the essays ("Art, Fabulation, and Practicing the Worlds We Want" and "Coordinates of Speculative Solidarity") here.
