As part of our ongoing collaboration between the Parsons DESIS Lab and the Brooklyn Public Library, this workshop included participants from BPL, the Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice, the Osborne Society, and others to explore and elaborate the themes and issues  identified in the first phase of research including:

How might BPL leverage its position as a community anchor and its unique commitment to information and education to become an effective reentry service provider?

 

How might BPL create a place of safety, belonging, and hospitality to welcome the formerly incarcerated?

 

How might BPL support, facilitate, and learn from the resourcefulness and referral capacity of its staff?
